Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What if I’m having trouble booking a class online?

A: We got you. The easiest way to book is by downloading the Momence app to your mobile device. It’s smooth, fast, and makes signing up a breeze.

Q: What’s your cancellation policy?

A: Cancel at least 3 hours before class to avoid a $7 late cancel fee.
If you don’t show up and haven’t canceled:
• Your first no-show is on us
• After that, there’s a $20 no-show fee
(Policy effective 4/1/25)

*In order to receive a refunded class credit, you must cancel your booking at least 12 hours before class. Meaning if you cancel your booking after 12 hours, you will not receive a class credit. This is a studio wellness standard and allows us enough time to ensure that everyone can receive the medicine they need.

Q: What happens if the class I want is full—should I join the waitlist?

A: Yes—add yourself to the waitlist! It’s the best way to snag a spot if one opens up.

Here’s how it works:

  • If someone cancels, the first person on the waitlist will get a text (or email) offering the open spot.

  • You’ll have a 10-minute window to accept before it moves on to the next person in line—so keep an eye out!

  • You can check your place on the waitlist anytime in your account or the Momence app.

  • If your contact info isn’t up to date, the system might not be able to reach you—make sure your phone number and email are correct in your profile.

  • Once the waitlist is closed (usually shortly before class), no more texts will go out.

✨ Pro tip: If you get a text and want in—respond quickly to claim your spot. We hold it for you until your confirmation window of 10-minutes ends.

If you opt-out of text messaging, this feature will not be available to you.

Q: Do I need to sign in before class starts?

A: Yes, please! Signing in helps us hold your spot and keep the energy clear in our shared space.

Q: What happens if I’m running late?

A: Doors lock 5 minutes after class starts. We understand delays happen, AND late arrivals can disrupt the collective flow we’re cultivating. If you come upon a locked door—we’re sorry we missed you. Please cancel your booking as to not be marked as a no-show. We look forward to seeing you next time.

Q: Should I plan extra time to park and get settled?

A: Absolutely. Arrive with spaciousness. It gives you time to find parking, sign in, and ground for your practice. On Fridays, there’s a weekly Farmers Market nearby—some streets are closed for vendors, so give yourself extra time and maybe even enjoy the abundance before or after class.

Q: Where do I park?

A: There’s paid street parking around the studio. Please read signs carefully, especially during the Friday Farmers Market when some blocks are blocked off. We suggest arriving early to give yourself a buffer for parking and walking in ease. On Saturdays and Sundays, the parking lot located on 8th and Washington, has free parking before 11:30 AM.

Q: Do you have showers?

A: We don’t have showers, but we do have a clean, cozy bathroom where you can change before or after class.

Q: Do you provide water?

A: Yes. We offer natural spring water sourced from Red Rock Spring located on unceded Miwok land. Bring your reusable bottle and hydrate intentionally.

Q: Do I need to bring a mat or towel?

A: Yes—yoga mats are required for all classes. (unless otherwise specified)
For heated classes, a mat towel is also required to keep you safe and grounded in your flow.
Forgot your gear? No stress—mat and towel rentals are $2 each.

Q: What’s the policy on lost items?

A: We keep Lost + Found items for 2 weeks, then donate them. OVRHL isn’t responsible for lost or stolen belongings—please keep your items secure.

Q: Can I leave class early?

A: If you need to leave early, we honor that—let your instructor know ahead of time and step out before savasana begins to preserve the stillness of our closing.

Q: Can I use my phone in class?

A: We ask that phones be turned off or on silent (no buzzes, flashes, or distractions). This space is for presence. Want to record your flow? You’re welcome to—just be sure you’re only filming yourself, not others.

Q: What should I wear or bring?

A: Wear breathable clothing you can sweat and move in. Bring a mat, a towel for heated classes, and a water bottle. Layers or a cozy wrap can be lovely for savasana.

Q: Are classes beginner-friendly?

A: Yes! Most of our offerings are open to those showing up with intention and willingness to try, and our facilitators provide options for different bodies and experience levels.
New to yoga? Start with Yin or Hatha, and let your teacher know you're just getting started. Looking for more challenging offerings: check out detailed class descriptions on momence.

Q: I’m pregnant or have an injury—can I still attend?

A: Always check with your care provider first. Then let your teacher know before class—we’ll offer modifications to support you safely.

Q: How do we show up for ourselves & each other?

A: We practice in a sanctuary of care, consent, and collective respect. This is a diverse and inclusive BIPOC-centered, queer-affirming, body-positive, anti-perfectionist space. We ask that you:
• Be mindful of shared space and energy
• Move with curiosity, kindness, and unconditional love
• Hold space for yourself and others without judgment

Q: Can I bring guests with me?

A: Yes! Only first time visitors to OVRHL qualify for guest passes. You must book your guest at the same time that you sign up for class.

If plans change and they cannot attend class, you are responsible for cancelling their spot no later than 12 hours before class (for a guest credit to be returned). If you do not cancel, you will not be re-credited your guest pass and that guest will no longer be considered a first time visitor.

Q: Can I pause my membership?

A: Yes, but we’ll miss you of course!
Whether you’re traveling, healing, or needing space––you can freeze your membership:

  • Minimum freeze: 7 days | Maximum freeze: 3 months.

  • Request at least 7 days before your freeze start date
